01
Start with the two names that cause confusion
FAME Recording Studios and Muscle Shoals Sound Studio are separate studios in separate municipalities. Put their street addresses into your route before booking: FAME is in Muscle Shoals, while the Jackson Highway home of Muscle Shoals Sound Studio is in Sheffield. Florence can serve as your base without being the address of every attraction on the trip.
02
Choose a FAME visit
FAME offers standard and backstage tour options. Read what each one includes and confirm the access arrangements that matter to your group. Since the studio is still a working recording facility, build your visit around the published tour offer rather than expecting unrestricted entry. Choose the experience for its content, not just an opening in your timetable.
03
Give Jackson Highway its own stop
Book or confirm a separate tour at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio. Leave a comfortable gap between the two visits, particularly if you need time to park, eat or manage mobility needs. There is no need to squeeze both into one morning: a single unhurried studio visit is a better plan than missing a second booking.
04
Return to Florence for the evening
Use the Shoals Theatre's official programme to see whether your dates line up with a performance you want to attend. Plan dinner on Court Street around that event, or simply use Florence as the evening end of your route. You can reach the current programme from our venue page.
05
Book the parts, then join them up
Build this suggested route around the studio visits and performances that interest you most. Each stop has its own booking arrangements. Confirm the essential bookings, arrange travel between them and leave a little room to follow an unexpected recommendation along the way.
