Choose a base for the trip you want
Start with where you want to spend your unplanned time. The Stricklin is a downtown option; Renaissance Shoals offers a riverside resort setting. Compare current room details and total booking conditions on the hotels' websites. Neither choice removes the need to arrange transport for the studios in neighbouring cities.
02
Day one: Florence at an easy pace
Build your first day around a guided visit to the Rosenbaum House, leaving room for a downtown walk and a meal. Book or confirm the visit before fixing the rest of the day. Odette and Ricatoni's give you two different menus to consider on Court Street. Choose a restaurant after checking its current service arrangements, rather than assuming every stop works for both lunch and dinner.
03
An evening with a plan—or without one
Look at the Shoals Theatre's official programme for your dates. If a production or concert appeals, make that booking first and work dinner around it. If there is nothing suitable, keep the evening open for another downtown meal or a quieter end to the day.
04
Day two: cross the river for the music
The region's studio story extends beyond Florence. FAME is in Muscle Shoals; Muscle Shoals Sound Studio is in Sheffield. Reserve or confirm each visit separately and leave space between them for travel, parking and a break. The order should follow the tour slots that are actually available. If the timings do not fit, give one studio your attention and save the other for another trip.
05
Make the practical details fit
Treat this as a suggested itinerary, not a timed package. Arrange a car or other suitable transport between municipalities; the two studio stops are not a downtown Florence walking route. Ask each venue directly about access needs and leave room for changes. Before setting off, confirm opening arrangements, admission and any reservations with the official sites linked on each place page.
